Cricket News sort by India Vs Australia 2nd Test at Hyderabad - Mar 02-06, 2013

The gameplan of India is simple and plainly not expected to be innovative at all. The homeside will be unleashing its spinners on a tailor-made surface for the Second Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The Australians would be pondering hard over the team combination for the second Test at Hyderabad beginning on Saturday following their disappointing showing in the series opener at Chennai.

The emphatic win at Chennai emboldened skipper MS Dhoni enough for him to proclaim that India have found the settled team combination for the rest of the series. Even though the win was built around a solid team effort, one wonders whether Dhoni has been too premature in his assessment of the team composition.

“Never change a winning team,” the saying goes. Nevertheless, as with every rule, there are exceptions. India comfortably beat back the Australian challenge at Chennai to go one up in the four-test series, but the performance was not seamless and there are adjustments that may lead to an improved performance at Hyderabad.

Although India outdid Australia comprehensively in the first Test at Chennai, the win wasn’t flawless. One of the biggest issues that has been haunting the hosts over the past two seasons came to the fore yet again.
